I am new to expediting and am wondering where there are good truck stops in different areas. Is there a way to find them before you are driving so I can make a map of a plan or is it basically just as you drive by one you find one?

I just find the ones as I drive. If you come up to a nice driver at one of the "famous" truck stops, you can always ask them. Most of them are friendly enough to help. When you drive and see Pilot signs or TA signs, those are generally where you want to park.

I just go to the ones that I see as I drive, then again, once in a while the dispatchers are able to point you in the right direction. There is also a good one in Franklin Kentucky

no matter what you do, DO NOT stay at any truck stops in Texas. Have you seen them??? They are filthy. And don't even think of eating at the buffets. You can see the truckers go to the bathroom don't wash their hands and then go eat off the buffet. SICK!

If you have an atlas (commercial driver) it will tell you where all the truck stops are. They are located on the maps of each state. You can pick these atlas maps up at any truck stop.
